SKILLS TRAININGS

Community Building Skills Training (CBST)

is a pre-cursor to the

immersive and successful

Community Building Workshop (CBW).

CBST can be used on it's own,

yet the greatest benefits are achieved when combined with the CBW.

"There were no preconceptions or judgment, we met people where they were, took a trip through our experiences, and landed on community."

Tyvi Small

and Participation

MISSION

To encourage people and groups to connect and heal in true community, so that they and the communities they share can thrive and be at peace.

GOALS

♦ The overall goal of CBC Northshore is to incorporate a powerful change process called Community Building into a variety of community programs across the Northshore.

♦ Skills Training does not replace existing programs. Rather, it enhances the outcomes and impacts of a broad range of existing programs and services.

♦ The long-term goal of this initiative is to dramatically reduce crime, violence and even poverty – and put our community on a better path for the future.

OBJECTIVES

♦ Enroll, train and certify local facilitators to conduct CBST.

♦ Incorporate CBST into 20-30 programs of participating agencies or partners.

♦ Support and maintain an ongoing network of CBST facilitators to serve the Northshore community.

PARTICIPATION

♦ Serve on the Planning Committee or as a Community Partner.

♦ Attend the online Community Building Skills Training (CBST).

“There is a yearning in the heart for peace. Because of the wounds and rejections we have received in past relationships, we are frightened by the risks. In our fear, we discount the dream of authentic Community as merely visionary. But there are rules by which people can come back together, by which the old wounds can be healed. The purpose of Community Building is to teach these rules - to make hope real again - and to make the vision actually manifest in a world which has almost forgotten the glory of what it means to be human.”
